Corporate Sponsorship
Good Works, Inc. was founded in 1988 in Coatesville by its present Director, Jim Ford, for the purpose of addressing the home repair needs of low-income homeowners in Chester County. Since its beginnings, Good Works has enabled over 375 families and individuals to remain in their homes by turning their substandard dwelling into a warmer, safer, and drier home. Neighborhoods are being transformed and lives are being changed by the hope that results from the kindness and generosity of individuals, businesses, and churches.
How is this possible? In a word... it can be done through sponsorship. A sense of urgency that something should and can be done often moves individuals and businesses to act. That action takes form when funds that can make a difference in the war on poverty in Chester County are provided. Individuals and groups of any size can successfully support the Good Works mission either on their own or in partnership with others. Below are a few options for your consideration.
House Sponsorships
Various organizations sponsor houses by providing a combination of direct funding, in-kind donations of materials and services, and volunteer labor. House sponsors include churches and faith-based communities, corporations large and small, organizations, membership associations and foundations. In many cases, several sponsors combine resources to fund one complete home.
Full House Sponsorship $10,000
One of the most rewarding parts of a house sponsorship is the ability to work alongside a partner family. Your full house sponsorship not only allows you to do that, but also pays for the materials, supplies, labor, and administrative costs associated with completely renovating a home for the family with whom you will be partnering. Many recognition opportunities are a part of this sponsorship, including on-site signage, media recognition, and participation in the home dedication ceremony.
Construction Sponsorship $5,000
Your ability to support a partner family does not diminish should you choose this sponsorship level. This sponsorship covers the costs for materials and labor associated with renovating a home for the family with whom you will be partnering. As with the Full House Sponsorship, volunteer support is welcomed, and similar recognition opportunities are provided.
Material Sponsorship $2,500
Some organizations and groups cannot handle the higher-level sponsorships on their own. That is why we created a partial sponsorship level. This sponsorship covers the costs for materials only. When a house is not fully sponsored, an opportunity for other partial sponsors to make up the difference is always created.
Workday Sponsorships
Organizations both large and small enjoy the idea of a single workday on site for their group. It is the most popular group method of supporting Good Works. It also creates a large number of scheduling and funding challenges. With a limited amount of staff and funding with which to build, it is often difficult to balance the supervision required, materials needed, site preparation and costs that will provide your organization the rewarding and safe experience you deserve. Because each group has unique needs and a differing ability to financially support their day on site, each workday sponsorship is developed well in advance and requires a discussion between the Good Works staff and group leaders. It typically costs the organization between $50-$100 per volunteer to properly prepare for their workday on site. Call 610-383-6311 to arrange for your workday sponsorship.
Event Sponsorships
There are several event sponsorships that afford your organization an opportunity to have your members involved, and at the same time support Good Works' on-going efforts at various levels. They include:
Annual Fundraising Dinner $10,000
(sponsorship levels - $1,000, $2,000, $3,000)
The Annual Fundraising Dinner is usually held in November of each year and is the premiere fundraising event of the organization. The event is underwritten completely by sponsors, and has become a well known method of providing support to the organization while also providing a wonderful opportunity for entertaining clients, friends, colleagues, spouses and others. Attendance is usually between 250 and 270 people and sponsors receive recognition at the event and in all printed materials.
Annual Celebration Dinner $6,000
(sponsorship levels - $1,000, $2,000, $3,000)
This event is the most exciting, vibrant and heart-warming event of the year. Designed as a true celebration of the great things God has done in our lives, this event is filled with volunteers, homeowners, board members, staff, friends and others, and features recognition, homeowner stories, video presentations, a great dinner, and so much more. Attendance is usually around 300 people and sponsors receive recognition at the event and in all printed materials.
Point of Entry Event $1,000
(sponsorship levels - $250, $500)
Point of Entry events are held throughout the year and provide a unique opportunity for people to learn about and hopefully become engaged in the work of the organization. A small breakfast is held, the mission of the organization is explained, and those not connected with Good Works have a chance to become connected in whatever way is important to them. Attendance at these events is usually 20-30 people, and sponsors receive recognition at each event.
Program Sponsorships
Sponsors are needed to fund programs usually associated with specific groups:
Neighborhood Revitalization Program $40,000
Using our core skills and expertise, Good Works completely renovates a vacant house using volunteer labor and donated services from local contractors. Our underlying motto is that we reclaim a neighborhood one home at a time, one room at a time. Therefore, room sponsorships seem to be the most logical option for support. Feel free to support more than one room at a time.
Kitchen $4,000
Bathroom $3,000
Bedroom $2,000
Dining Room $1,000
Living Room $1,000
Summer Work Camps $1,000
Two weeks of summer Work Camps occur each year. Usually, three homes are worked on during each week. This intense schedule of volunteer support requires a great deal of planning, scheduling and coordinating to be sure materials are available and ready, that supervision is in place, and that everyone has a safe, enjoyable experience.
Project Sponsorships
In order to help keep our overhead costs low, we accept underwriting sponsorships for special projects. Current opportunities for project sponsorships include:
Annual Report Sponsor $6,000
(sponsorship levels - $500, $1,000)
Newsletter Sponsor $4,000
sponsorship levels - $500, $1,000)
Website Sponsor (for one year) $3,000
Do you have a different idea about what would work for your organization? We would be happy to create a unique sponsorship just for you. Please contact Jim Ford at 610-383-6311 for more information about any sponsorship opportunity.
