Good Works Leadership Succession

The Bible reminds us that we are God's masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works that He prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph 2:10). God has a calling for each one of us and Good Works provides many opportunities for those He calls to respond. We are always seeking good people for current and future leadership positions. Being strategic, we recognize that many of Good Works paid and volunteer staff are approaching retirement age. In response, we are implementing a Succession Database and mentoring program for future leaders. The positions listed below may be open today (as indicated), a year from now, or even years in the future. We also acknowledge that life-changing events can occur at anytime and to anyone creating an unexpected need to fill an open leadership position. Our goal is to create a Succession Database of interested candidates who believe in Good Works' mission, vision and values and feel called by God to serve today or at some time in the future. To use a sports team analogy, the Succession Database will be our Bench from which we will first seek candidates for job openings.

The form below allows you to indicate roles you would like to be considered for when an opportunity presents itself. Before selecting a position, consider your background, experiences, skills and spiritual gifts. Also consider your timeframe as some positions may be open now and others not for several years. Many of the positions listed below offer the opportunity for mentorship or shadowing on a voluntary basis. When a position comes available, those on the Bench will be notified. Having your name in the Succession Database does not guarantee a job, nor imply a commitment by either Good Works or yourself. When the time comes, all positions will be filled after receipt of a completed job application and a candidate interview process in accordance with Good Works Human Resources policies and hiring practices. Unpaid Volunteer Leadership Positions

Operations Director - Responsible for the planning and oversight of a Good Works workday on one Saturday per month.

Ambassador Director - Responsible for the faith and ministry aspects of a workday one day per month and overseeing the efforts of assigned Ambassadors.

Work Crew Leader - Responsible for leading a volunteer crew at a worksite one Saturday per month.

Technical Advisor - Responsible for teaching skills and ensuring home repairs are accomplished safely and correctly one Saturday per month.

Ambassador - Responsible for ministering to the emotional, relational and spiritual needs of homeowners and volunteers on one Saturday per month.

Materials Coordinators - Responsible for pickup and delivery of building supplies on one Saturday per month.

Volunteer Coordinator (Part Time) - Responsible for recruiting and retaining volunteer needed to execute the mission of Good Works.

Applications Coordinator (Part Time) - Responsible for all aspects of client (homeowner) application and approval process.

Staff Accountant (Part Time) - Responsible for overseeing financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations.
